On occasions when Pastor Galler is away on vacation, for Continuing Education, or for other reasons, and when other prepared material is not in use or when Pilgrim’s Board of Elders has not arranged for another pastor to teach the Sunday Adult Bible Class in Pastor Galler’s absence, a member of the Board of Elders may lead a session of “Lutheran Doctrine and Practice Today: A Study Based on Scripture and the Augsburg Confession”.
The study, written by Rev. Dr. James Baneck, President of the LCMS North Dakota District, uses detailed twenty-first century scenarios to bridge the gap between the present era and the original era of the Lutheran Confessions. Chief among those Lutheran Confessions, which everyone at Pilgrim makes their own by their church membership, is the Augsburg Confession, which is just as relevant to the life of the Church today as it was during the sixteenth-century Reformation. (For more about Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions, you may wish to read this page.)
