Pilgrim Lutheran Church is offering Vacation Bible School (VBS) to its members and to the community from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, July 21, through Friday, June 27. Three-year-olds through 6th-graders are welcome, as well as adults. Registration forms can be submitted to the church office (please indicate any food allergies).
As God the Father promised, His Son, the God-man Jesus Christ, was crucified and rose again for us. The benefits of Jesus’s crucifixion and resurrection the Holy Spirit gives to us in His Means of Grace: preaching, Baptism, Absolution, and the Lord’s Supper. Each day, Pilgrim’s VBS will both teach God’s law that shows us our sin and proclaim the Gospel that Jesus was crucified to save us by grace through faith in Him. Crafts, games, lessons, music, and “snacks” (a light dinner, given the start time) all center on the Crucified theme.
The following are the theme and Scripture for each day.
- Monday: The Father Promises (Genesis 3:1-19)
- Tuesday: Christ, True God and True Man (Luke 1:26-38)
- Wednesday: Christ Crucified (Mark 15:21-47)
- Thursday: Christ Risen (Luke 24:1-12)
- Friday: The Spirit’s Gifts (Acts 9:1-19)
As with last year’s “From Above” VBS materials, the “Crucified” VBS materials were produced under the auspices of Higher Things, a registered service organization of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.
